Sliding doors

What is the difference between an early sliding door and a late sliding door? And can you make an late fit a crossover camper?

Late bay sliders have an extra hole: one for the handle and one for the lock.
Early ones have the lock in the handle so therefore only one hole.

Furthermore the "indent" where the handle is, is a different shape between early and lates

My crossover takes the early style slider

Earlier late bays were the same as early bays. You can fit the later type if you have all the latches etc but it won't look right for the purists.
