Somerset/Dorset/anyone mini meet/campout 29th - 31st May

Hi!

I have a idea...... What about a mini camp out over the school hols? Say Fri, Sat leave Sunday? So that's, 29, 30 and leave 31st May?

How about Corfe Castle?

This site seems good value - i have yet to check availabilty, Toms Field i think is booked up, and only 5 nights can be booked over school holidays and bank holidays. Looked at others, but aint paying the like of 20 odd quid upwards for 2 people!

Or anyone got any other places along this area? We are meeting up camping with some friends and there 2 4yr old twins, so was thinking, why not make the most of it and meet up with some earlybayers?

So we are looking around this area or thereabouts. They live in Fareham, us in Gillingham, Dorset, so looking for coast places about a hour to hour and half away from our respective places, so Corfe Castle, Swanage, Durdle Dor and around that way?

Anyone up for some cider and BBQ-ing over a weekend? Or even one night?

Comments? Would be nice for a mini meet?!

4 weeks? Blimey! At least she out and ok. Would be nice if you could make it - no worrys if it's hassle.
Of course if it looks like it's gonna chuck it down like last week, then i ain't gonna waste my money - can't afford to m8!
Though i am not too sure place have spaces over the school hols anyway, i was all just a thought, so i will try and ring up when i finish work.

hi, this sounds like a good idea, and we live in fareham to, well on the border with gosport!!!!! also have a 5 year old son to bring along!! let us know about bookings and i will check dates with the wife.

Would have been up for this, but my mate started to cut the sliding doors sills out last week, taking longer than anticipated, nothing ever goes back the same :evil: . So the van will be off the road then , will be up for some over the summer hols though.

Won't be able to make that weekend but we went to East Creech Farm a few weekends ago (http://www.eastcreechfarm.co.uk/campd.htm) which was a nice little site. Good facilities and an adventure playground for the kids.

Dates are as above - though was in late today, didn't get time to ring the site and see what's what :roll:

Details on the site link i posted above, about 6 quid per adult, or familly with 2 kids for £16 IIRC. Good compared to the expense of the other sites i had looked at.

I'll try and post tommorrow with details of spaces.

So that's me and thee then........ :lol: Hopefully the weather will be good - if it's gonna chuck it down though, may wimp out, as our friends are coming in a tent...No bus for them (yet)

We will be there Friday night, but prolly about 9pm or so, as Linda works till 7. Our friends will prolly be there earlier (I'll speak to them)

Any more takers? You can just turn up, or if it looks like the weather is gonnaa be sunny that week, perhaps best to ring the site and book.

hi alistair, not bothered which campsite we go to, will be nice to get away!!!! just sent you a quick pm, as did not know whether to call the other campsite and let them know who was going!!! let me know which one everyone decides on and whether we need to contact the campsites ourselves.
