With dynamat type products your objective is to reduce noise from vibration. I found through experiment that about 1/3 coverage sorted things out. Buy plenty, then drum against the panel, fit some, drum again and see what the difference is. One of those things where there's a balancing point between effort, cost and noise.
However, I'm still getting quite a bit of droning so am going to put a layer of 25mm of this stuff on the upper side of the engine bay and ahead of the petrol tank
