is standard heating any good in a bus ? (never owned an air cooled that's had heater that work) just wanted to know if its worth spending time and money and getting it fixed and replacing bits, or is it better to just use a propex heater. thats what the last owner did, nut he kept the heater when i brought the bus.

The standard heating is pretty good if the system is in good condition especially if you use original VW heat exchangers (more and bigger fins on the ally inside).
But don't expect to drive around in your T-SHIRT this time of year , but for defogging your windscreen and a more comfortable temperature it's OK.

Fit a eberspacher D2 diesel heater under the rear seat and you will never know what a cold bus is.Very cheap to buy, secondhand and very easy to fit, slammedresto has a very good thread on here about fitting one,
Stuart
