Hey guys I have taken my steering box apart and it is evident I need to replace the bearing in the pitman arm, as well as the seals. Does anybody know where I can get this bearing? I have read through the topics on the forum but unfortunately this is still somewhat of a grey area.

Also, can someone confirm the seal sizes of 24X36x7 for the steering shaft, and for the pitman arm shaft - 27x37x7?

I found this very useful article:

Does it seem accurate to you guys?

Your peg looks in good nick, not sure you need the grease they recommend in that link. The box is filled with oil anyway, I went straight oil and no problems so far....
I ordered these for the seals: 1 x 25x36x7mm Nitrile Rubber Rotary Shaft Oil Seal with Garter Spring R23 / TC 1 x 24x36x7mm Nitrile Rubber Rotary Shaft Oil Seal with Garter Spring R23 / TC From here http://www.simplybearings.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; cost £6.43 with delivery, you may find them cheaper ...

There are two sizes of seals:

Oh brilliant I love this forum, cheers fellas!

All I need now is to sort out that bearing in the pitman arm...

OK I've been phoning round everywhere and will continue to do so, but in the meantime, does anybody know of any experienced engineering firms I could take my steering shaft to and get the peg bearing repaired?

There are firms everywhere but I want somebody who has done this particular job before if possible.

The companies that do refurbs won't tell me the individual engineering firms they use, for obvious reaons, but I don't need to send the whole box off, just the peg shaft!

Anybody know of any decent firms that they trust to do this sort of thing?
