howdy - i'm replacing my fuel tank and everything connected to it and was wondering which pipes and hoses are the longest-living (i recall seeing a post on here a while ago about modern fuels eating through 'normal' fuel hose?) - any advice gratefully received :)

Replace it with this stuff - wouldnt use anything else

If it were me I would get some AN fittings from the likes of earls performance products and some hard line and run hard line from the tanks to a filter to the carb. It might be more hassle if you running a stock carb as I don't know what fitting is abalible for that application but if you are running twin Webber or dells then it's an easy fitment with another AN fitting.

I'm currently looking into this as well, and I came across this interesting article which discusses Cohline 2240 fuel hose (100% ethanol resistant):

I wonder if we can sue the petrol companies if we have an engine fire due to their bloody ethanol…

I can also recommend VW Aircooled Works' fit and forget pipes plus fuel filler hose (most people forget about this part)

My original filler hose appeared to be OK, however was horrified on it's internal condition once removed.
