Just thought I'd share and discuss the things I'd like to get before 'Doris' goes for body work & paint.I've looked at several places and listened to recommendations. this is the short list of bits and suppliers I'm thinking of.I'm still not sure who to take her to, but I've got plenty of time to save yet! I'd like everything I need so when she comes home , I have everything to hand to re fit.(although not a 'wanted' thread. feel free to let me know if you have any of these bits kicking aroung to get rid of)

just a spruce up before it gets to the stage of a full resto. She's essentially a solid straight van,but had a few repairs about 20 years ago by PO and the paint is getting a bit tired now, so I'm going to do the repairs properly and give her a fresh coat. the front panel is the worst,I have all the panels to repair  but I haven't got the skills to do it!! :(

Sorry Doris I don't know your proper name :?:
Try Russ @ Justdbz, ok I know he's in bedfordshire but he'll do a proper job, he might even be able to give you a quote by emailing pictures :D

Your cab door handle gaskets should come in the cab door seal kit.
The chrome hubcaps and other door seals might be cheaper from schofields? You may need hubcap clips and front bumper step rubbers from there as well. What about rear light and indicator rubbers? If your having the engine out you may want to check and renew your fuel breather and filler neck as well.
Dunno how good the heritage mirrors are but I got mine from Custom and Commercial and they are really nice. Think they are stainless but not 100% sure.

hubcapclips seem to be fixed to the wheels - front bumper rubbers, other seals replaced so they're OK. fuel line - GOOD CALL!! - got to be done!!

will check 'em out!
Thanks for your imput mate! maybe I should put up a list I have done/bought thats sittting in the garage?! Regards - Rob

Cheers ProfsesorWheeto,
I've looked at the C&C mirrors and they look very nice, a bit cheaper and yes they are stainless steel!! onto my list they go! noticed the 'German' dome hub caps as well, a bit cheaper than Heritage but the description dosesn't tell you much about why they are better than the £7 ones - don't think Heritage or C&C are stainless. (having said that I did loose one about 4 years ago and I'd be gutted if I paid nearly £40 for a hub cap and lost it, so may go for the cheap ones and take them during winter) .

Well to be honest I always go for the cheapest hubcaps!
Too much chance of them falling off, getting nicked or kerbed so can't really see why they are worth shelling out loads for.

When I replace the set I've got now I might just take them off for the winter months to prolong their life.
