Wasn’t until I had the motor out of the noisy cupboard and on the bench for splitting (cam thrust) that I realised mine had worn more on one end than the other in those nylon bushes, then I could see that both carbs couldn’t operate the same at the same time although it appeared that they did. Had a linkage set very very similar to your pic and it’s been great for about four years so far.
