We bought our van project with a louvre window which I plan on taking apart to clean up, however I can’t figure out how to secure it to the van afterwards. At the moment it’s just resting in position and pops out if pushed. I’ve seen pics of the window screwed in at the bottom, inside the van but there are no screw holes on my frame or van.

Can anyone help me figure out what we need?

Is it somehow connected to the two indents on the top of the frame on the inside of the van?

Hoping these pics help. Thanks in advance :)

You have to drill holes thorough the lip on the van window frame for small self tapers to go through into a channel on the window,if you take the window back out you will see a groove which will take some self taping stumpy screws.

And following on from this, you'll probably also see evidence of where the screws originally were as they tend to bite into the aluminium frame and leave their thread pattern. At least that will give you an idea of how many screws to use and their factory location (if you want to be a real perfectionist!)

That said, you may want to slightly adjust the screw positions so that they are biting into fresh metal - they do tend to go loose if the original screw positions have seen lots of in and out screwing over the years...

Don t use screws that are too long .I think mine had 6 quite short and 9 a bit longer and if you put the long ones where the short should go you ll break the glass

Great. Thanks for the advice. I’ll give it another proper going over :)
