Sorted out my ignition loom this week and also changed the barrel, a fiddly job but so much better now it's done :D

While i was doing it i had to remove the steering column and as i was reassembling it i noticed what appeared to be a spade connector on the botttom of the column. Had a quick look at it and decided it was nothing......What a muppet!

Now as i'm sure most of you know my horn is not working and i have to strip out the column again

Oh well, not too concerned though as i can whisper louder than my horn :D

Are the klaxon horns acceptable for the MOT?????

Can't see why not, it is a working horn :? Then again who knows, they seem to make it up as they go along sometimes

Depends where you take it aswell. My horn is poop! (nothing personal  ) will have to get a klaxon for the summer or maybe a cheeky bull horn :D

I was always given to understand that a horn is acceptable if it is:
a. Audible (loud)
b. Of single tone (no Dixie please!)

Could be wrong - any MOT testers out there?
;)

Hopefully one of the dudes on here who run garages etc will be able to clarify this :D

The Guide says the following:

a. Must operate
b. Control can be easily reached by the driver
c. loud enough
d. Not sequential multi tone (What?)
