August 1970 (71 model year).
Initially calipers had a single bleed nipple early in 1971 these were changed to the twin bleed nipple type identicle in every other way, this form of caliper continued until the end of the 72 XO.
The late bay august 1972 (73 model year), was equiped with larger discs and correspondingly larger calipers.
Owing to the scarcity of the early calipers it is common for the late set up to be installed, with a cheap fitting kit comprising of 4 spacers used to offset the centre line of the larger late bay caliper.
