they look the nuts mate, how do you keep em lookin good tho? real whitewalls are made with white and black rubber, but you only seem to get them in the u.s.
i have seen utube videos of people making them for hot rods from black tyres with white lettering. they grind/sand off the lettering and then the sidewall until they hit the white rubber underneath, can't help thinking that is a massive mistake to thin the sidewall like that tho.

Cheers. I've used Mr whitewalls paint, I haven't managed to get enough miles on them really to worry about them going grubby.
but i have some paint left over if I need to touch it up.

Hi. Did you paint them yourself? Was it difficult and were you pleased with the finish? I have looked at getting some of his paint but don't trust myself not to **** it up!

It's not that hard, I just jacked it up so i ciuld spin the wheel, gave the tyres a damn good clean, ran some pinstriping tape around where the edge was going to be and went at it. The mouldings on the tyre will pretty much tell you how wide a band it wants, and if you slip you can let it dry a little and scrape your mistake off before it fully cures. The brush in the tin will do the job but I like to use nice brushes and freehand the edges to clean them up.

If you look closely you can probably see the odd brush stroke or thin patch, but that's down to me having to rush a little towards the end, but overall I love them, I'll definitely be redoing them when I gen new tyres.
