Who has a towbar that would recommed it .???

Hi guys......

I'm after a towbar for my early 71 bay.

If your looking at this posting then you must have a towbar and wanted i just to know if you would recommend it for good fixing to the bus ,style,build and value for money ...??

i have found bluebird customs for £150 all in & watling towbars for £185 all in ... any of these any good ..??????

I must admit those westy look-a-likes are nice...I'm not sure you can put a bike rack onto those ...
Correct me if I'm wrong ,but are they £225 ?? No electric's and not delivered ?

Yes I think that is what I paid, I got my electric socket and cable from local car shop for about £7.
I dont know about the bike rack fitting...probably not.

yes mate, a thule rack taking three bikes. no probs with the towbar, you just need to makes sure the fitting is tightened up as far as the rack goes as this type of rack fits to the ball. It is a swan neck tow bar not a 'two hole' bar, as some racks are bolted through.

i`ve got one of deano`s towbars too ....it is real well made with good finishing.
currently sitting in my shed as i may not fit it now because i change my mind like the weather :lol:

To be honest there are not many offerings, if you don't go for the Westy/Gadget Repro then the only options are the tube and bumper brackets one which come up occasionally but is usually missing the brackets.

Forget the angle iron ones JK etc sell as they dont fit unless you have a stock bus with stock exhaust.

I ran an original westy one on my panel van and I've got a gadget repro one that was on my last bus and have swapped to the new bus, worth getting one if you can find one.

I'm Still looking for a towbar if anyone has one anything considered new or old .. Like a new gadget one as they got a good following now I've found out I can put a bike rack on them

Yeah Graham i did pm gadget about a towbar ,but not heard back ...i don't like to hastle anyone for things....
