I’ve just fitted a new window lifting channel and rubber but it isn’t gripping enough to allow me to wind the window down. Now I know I need to pinch this thing to make it grip but any suggestions on how. I was thinking large mole grips and press whilst in situ. I’m just scared of breaking the glass. Thanx in advance

Wouldn't do in situ, crimp slightly then reinsert glass, repeat until working correctly

Aside from the issue of potentially breaking the glass, squashing it whilst in situ isn’t going to cause it to permanently hold it any tighter. It would need to be removed, squashed a bit (so that the opening is smaller than the thickness of the glass) and then put back together. Not sure if that makes sense?!
