Window Rubber Woes Again!!!!

Right, i own an Early Bay Deluxe and am having problems with my windows.
Its the side 1/4 windows.

All of the windows had been removed in August as it was off to the bodyshop.
I spent a serious amount of money on a full (Deluxe) window rubber set with chrome trim inserts.
The front n rear screens went in well as did the 1/4windows.
The problem i had as did a screen fitter from Autowindscreens was the 3/4's on the sides.
Spent 2 1/2 hours yesterday trying to fit just one.It didnt fit .
Basicaly the rubber round the 3/4 glass is to thick, about half an inch in all.
They will not go in :x .
I read in Heritages catalogue that 68-72 and 73-79 are different but dont know what the differences are?
The company that sold these rubbers say thiers fit 68-79, they dont fit my 70 :evil: .
Question? Does any body know ware i can get a set of these side 3/4 sindow rubbers from, for my Early Bay(Chrome strip insert) that will fit please?
Had a looksy on Status last night and dont think they do em.

Any help on this will be very apreciated.

Where were the rubbers from, I would recommend speaking to Barkley at status.

I bought a set from JK & they wouldn't fit! I got another set from Justin at Custom & Commercial. They fitted ok.

He told me that late bay window glass is a different size, so the glass has to match the rubber. If you use your old glass (as most do) they won't go back in with a new rubber.

I did my front door rubbers yesterday, VW Heritage supplied 2 different types. 1 harder black shaped rubber, I had to trim it to get the door to close. The other side has a spongy grey rubber & fits better. I will have to replace the black one with a grey one.

whs^^^ got mine from there,they fit but i don't think the fitters like them because
they are fiddly, try it your self :wink:
