Fire away fella, we'll pull the thread only if it gets nasty.... as a rule we dont censor threads, attitudes feelings but obviously if its gonna hurt someone or is unsubstantiated or worse still lands the forum mods in the **** and potentially shuts us down then we'll pull it or request that the poster edits the item.... very few have been removed and long may it remain that way....

we all want to know whos out there producing good workmanship and looking after our busses....

plus if you know anyone offering good work and you want to help them along you can always post a link in the reference section with a brief description of services the expand on it in the general section....

If your after work doing just let everyone know where you are and what you want most ares of the british Isles are covered by members and a few SA, OZ, NZ and the USA....

ta lots bud, just asking about fairly local places etc. yeovil ,,, had a place in street that is okay but should look about a bit i reckon.

contacted a place near weston ?classy camper? and a palace or place even ... near exeter ..south west splitz,?... but i dont have a split! . any one had works done by either? before i travel to them with van etc.

just spoken to evolution ...well will do when the main man is back ...?

need to get van solid underneath...it is an import i got hold of.rhd so i like that
and then a spray ...bare metal seems to be the way and worth the doing.

next year maybe a pop top of some sort put on.,. so do i spray now or wait etc...or part spray etc.
any views would be brill ...ta lots

sorry robins think i just messaged you , meant for ziprty ... i can give you some info on one of your names and send pics to mail
pm`d you cheers

Ive seen the two places and there work look some of the best I've seen.

http://www.hannoverheritage.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Stu was a body shop technician, does great body and spray work.

http://www.vdubbodyshop.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; some of the best major body repair work I've seen on a split.

Seen plenty of other places I wouldn't touch with a barge pole, but Im not going to bad mouth anyone on here.
Just go round a few before you chose. Look at the work they are doing, not finished work, work in progress, you will know a bodge when you see one.

Where abouts in the country are you?

If you're after bodywork (paint especially) I can recommend Mark at Vdub Resto :) - just North of Bristol.

Hopefully he will be spraying my bug in the summer 8)

Oh, and tintops are better than poptops in my opinion... that is why awnings were invented :D

classey campers bought a beam of him last year, top man and honest. Showed me around the workshop and some of the resto he was doing. I was like a dog on heat, did'nt know where to look first.

If the moderators on here don't mind me putting the feelers out for a free plug, i am in the process of locating a small secure unit with the view of going back to some part time restoration work, with no more than a couple of vehicles at a time. Now i appreciate the fact that there is currently nobody on here to recommend me and that there are a lot of have a go restorers out there (and a lot of top restorers too ;) ) but i am a city and guilds part 1,2,3 qualified panel beater and sprayer with over 16 years time served experience most of which with a vw main dealer, i am thatcham trained also and British standard certificated with mig and spot welding, oh and nearly forgot a big aircooled vw fanatic :D .(big plug over)
I am aiming for a smaller more personal service and will be looking at late May early June to start, i will check with mods nearer the time and keep you all posted, thanks......

you got another pm

any one had work done by classy campers? or just bought bits?
