    wow i'm glad i asked on here for some advice i really have learnt a lot about these engines as i've gone along, also learnt alot about certain people who claim to be mechanics, i'll post pics of my rebuild as i go and hope that i do a decent job cheers

    also while i think about it, how important are baffle plates? the guy that was advising me on what to do had told me to do away with them, but while the heads are off i can refit them? any one any ideas either way? cheers guys

    cheers for the advice, will look into picking up some new springs, i've done my best to clean up the rocker assemblys, soaked them in thinners and used a fairly soft wire brush on them, got them soaking in oil for now

    when i took the rocker cover off there was some oil in there, i just went to the garage and tipped the engine up slightly on one side and oil ran out of the push rod tubes i'm having a mechanic friend sort the carbs out for me at the moment, should i put it all back together and run it then see...
