What do you want from a show?

Sorry, I'm going to dissent by saying I can't stand bands. Noisy bastards! I just want nice old cars and good food and ale. No 'scene' crap, no t5's with rusty bonnets, no people selling those trolleys for pulling kids around, preferably no kids either, no tents full of collections of bmxs or...

    '71 moonraker bed question.

It is! On page 7 it shows what to do, classic Devon, half way between a good idea and a bodge, the tables are supported by pulling the draws out  Cheers!

    '71 moonraker bed question.

Hello all. I've got a '79 moonraker with a '71 moonraker interior which I've recently put in. Does anyone have any pics of how the bed works? I've seen some pics which show the two tables stretched out beside the sink unit, but I can't work out how to attach them to the draw unit. Cheers.

    Viking roof?

More useless anorak info. The large side hinged Devon roof is called the 'Double Top' roof. It's often mistakenly called the Moonraker, but that's actually the interior:) Here's mine. (sorry about the 'late' pic) As mentioned above, the big roofs really hammer the metal work, personally i'd...

Deluxe, What does it really mean? What were ALL the options?

I think the opening windows was a 'hot weather destination' option, but like everything, you could have had them in siberia if you ordered them:) The chrome trim on interior panels is a deluxe thing.

Deluxe, What does it really mean? What were ALL the options?

A lot of the stuff that gets labelled as 'deluxe' is just standard microbuses spec. My van's a microbus and it's got trim on the bulkheads behind the seats, cool air vents on the cab doors for the cargo area, warm air vents at the rear of the cargo floor, vinyl trim round the windows, all stuff...

    Apologies… late bay alert!

I think I can just about see a petrol flap, so it's either a '72 with a late front panel, or a '73 with early bumpers and the deformation panel removed. I saw one like that selling waffles in Brussels :)

2.0L Type 4 Motor and gearbox

Yep, all 'boxes from '76 onwards are 091 type, in either the 3 rib version for the 1600 or 6 rib for the 2L.

    Waxoil interior

Dinitrol smells like waxoyl really, but the aerosol stuff seeps a lot better. The dinitrol I've got comes with a long probe which is great for doing inside the frame of the roof.

Found it! This pics are from a couple of years ago, but I've still got at the back of my store;) It's been stained a slightly darker color I think, but looks ok.

    Devon louvre Window

Yep it's a standard factory window seal. There should also be a thin rubber seal on the window itself where it sits in the main seal. If it's missing or knackered it might mean that the window is a bit loose in the seal.

    cargo floor panels

what do you mean reverse them, turn them upside down? You can't, the middle section is lower than the edges where they join to the sills. I make a section up that goes from the sill edge on the righthand side out to the side panel. you can either seam weld which takes ages or just plug weld the...
