Remove barell from sliding door handle?

Hi MartyMcFly, Well if you have managed to get the grub screw out you have done the hardest bit! What you need to do now is insert a key, it can be any key not necessarily the one that works the lock. you then have to use the key to wiggle the lock barrel free. Obviously if its the wrong key you...

I can supply you with the correct lock tumblers (and spare springs) for you van, the tricky bit is that they have to match your ignition key code so that it will work the locks. give me a PM and we will see...

    RHD 1972 Tin-Top EarlyBay Crossover

Hi all, we have decided to sell our camper van which we have owned for the last 4 years, it has been both my daily transport and our holiday home. It is a 1972 (Tax exempt) tin-top converted panel van in VW Aquarius blue and cream. It has a type 4 engine (I think 72 was the first year of the...

    Rekey ignition barrel question

Hey Rob All the wafers should indeed be level with both sides of the barell (with the key in, obviously..). Ignitions use 4 different wafer depths whilst all other locks only use 3 wafers. The 4th wafer is an added securety measure, thats why you always have missing wafers in your door locks...

    Steering Lock and no Keys

You could always try and get a key cut to code. If you remove your rear cargo door lock and have a look for a key code there, as this lock is rarely replaced and -may- still match your ignition.

Remove barell from sliding door handle?

Be careful removing the grub screw as its somtimes locked in with a dab of paint, make sure the slot is nice and clean. once removed insert the key and the lock barrel should come out. Be careful when you pull the key from the barell as all the wafers may fall out and if these get mixed up the...

    Unwelded dropped spindles - TransporterHaus & T2D pics& q's

Hi Guys thanks for all the useful input. I guess my main worry now is the tyre rubbing the wheel arch going over bumps. As I said I currently have no bump stops so I guess this is why the tyres are hitting. Does anyone have a picture of the clearance between the trailing arm and the lower bump...

    Unwelded dropped spindles - TransporterHaus & T2D pics& q's

Well just spent all day swapping my spindles over, with mixed results. The removal went OK the track rod ends came apart nicely as did all other components, torsion leaves went back in OK (I was swapping over from a Red9 Design set up). Couple of points/concerns. First is the brake pipe set up...

    Unwelded dropped spindles - TransporterHaus & T2D pics& q's

Hey great timing on the instructions as I'm going to fit them tomorrow! The instructions look useful, especially the backing plate cutout. Will let you know how I get on and any comments on the instructions tomorrow.

    Unwelded dropped spindles - TransporterHaus & T2D pics& q's

Thanks Guys all good useful advice especially the track rod lengths, is the camber easy to set up? One more question I have, are torsion leaves easy to install? The new ones I got aren’t welded together so is it possible to either tie wrap them together at one end or install them one leave at...

    Unwelded dropped spindles - TransporterHaus & T2D pics& q's

I have a set of Transporterhause spindles but not yet fitted them. They arrived without any fitting instructions, which I think is a bit of a shame as these things don’t appear to be a straight swap for the old set up. The only place I have managed to find useful info is from this thread. I...

    Which Bike Rack

Not sure if this is posted in correct place, but here goes any way. I am looking to buy a bike rack that goes on the back of my van. Ideally it would take 4 bikes and leave access to the engine bay (obviously!) while the rack is loaded with bikes. Read on here about an issue with the Fiamma rack...
