I thought about doing that but wasn’t sure if the sender may give an inaccurate signal due to the sensor being on a spur and out of the main ‘flow’? Logically that shouldn’t be a thing but physics doesn’t always seem to follow logic 😉
Does it work OK?
I'd like to avoid that if I can, don't need worry lights flashing on the dash when they don't need to.
I had a couple of additional cables put into the replacement loom for auxiliary items so I have additional cables running from front to back already that I can use, but obviously if I was able...
I haven't found a definitive answer for this online, I'd like to fit a VDO oil pressure guage, question is will that sensor will also double up for the speedometer idiot light, I assume the dash light goes off when it gets a positive reading so I assue it will?
....and if so, is it best to run...
Currently on the list is 'JUST ALL OF THE THINGS' to make the van ready for Friday and our first trip away in it for the first time in 2 years whilst it's had it's underside made ship shape to hold both ends together.
Following that I'm looking forward to those little projects that make it...
As has already been mentioned if the vendor is unsupportive then a call to trading standards has got to be worth a shot, £2300 is too much cash to lose and clock down to 'experience', particuarly if it could potentially happen to someone else. It's down to a third party to define whether they've...
We crossed post's there @Mechanoid (I had the page open for ages) and you provided just the engine builder experience I refered to someone 'chiming in' with in my response above ;)
That is an unfortunate story, and it would certainly appear that the engine builder could have done more to offer you some support.
Would it be worth getting an independent report from a reputable engine builder and proceed with small claims court if you have a case?
It's all a bit...
Mine had a slightly conical 'top hat' shaped rubber seal, narrow at the top and wider at the base so it compressed into the resevoir neck as it was tightened. The lower edge (the brim of the top hat as it were) overlapped the bottom of the thread on the resevoir so it was also compressed between...
Thanks guys,
I here what you're saying @Walt but I'm not sure I can bring myself to do it! I vowed never to spend any money with Kwick Fit again after getting shafted by them away from home once when I had no option but to use them,
I think often experiences at these places is based heavily...
A few of you guys are based around Bristol, can anyone recommend a garage who are happy to undertake 4 wheel alighnment on a slightly lowered T2?
I'm the other side of Bath but the places I've approached in my immediate neighbourhood have said thay can't or won't do it, so I may need to...
Quick question, without going into the technicalities of inner outer splines as I'm familiar with the principle, as a starting point where would you position the spring plate in relation to the tab at the base of the springplate housing (either clearance or overlap) to get acheive a drop just...
I hadn't clocked there was a problem until the PayPal refund came in which propmted me to come back to the thread. Thanks to all involved, I've not tried fitting mine yet so I'll keep my fingers crossed I get lucky ;)
Big respect to Jason at Aircooled Vintage Works, I've always considered the...
Well if it's any consolation it doesn't feel like 12 years ago since I last posted on this thread!! ;)
I could have started afresh but this was a pivotal moment in the van's history with us and it's as close as I've ever come to a 'build' thread on here so I thought I'd resurrect it.
With...
