It's been a while since I've looked on here, been even longer since I made any type of comment. Be a shame if it had to close so I've put something in the pot to help out.
Jack.
Took the bus out today, first time this year. It's bloody windy out today, got blown around the place, but great to get back behind the wheel, roll-on Spring :D
Need to plan a couple of weekend trips before our first camping of 2015, at Easter.
The owner of this little gem was a great guy, we talked for quite a while, let my 3 old climb in and pretend to drive her. Then came looked over our 71 westy. Hope I posted the picture ok
Got a Ctek hard wired into the Bus. When she's parked up at home just plug it in same as a hook-up on any camp site.
Working together with a normal split charger system, which charges the Bus battery first then tops up the LB when on the move, then when plugged in on site (or at home) the...
Firetec and 2kg I can reach from the drivers seat. When we are camping we've got another 2kg in the awning.
What ever system or size you get the number one is prevention.
Stock 14" wheels, so I'm putting 4 Michelin Agilis on this winter. They do a 195/80 so that's on the back, 185 on the front.
There not cheap, but do have a B rating for rain.
"Looks" like a nice Bus, if you do some "fag packet" calculations... :msn4:
It's had a £20k spend on her and 1200 hrs at say £35ph, that's £62k plus the original cost of the Bus.
Went down to Bournemouth week last Saturday then had 4 days in and around the New Forrest, saw 1 late bay on the way home :( It was lovey weather all week as well.
I'll be using her till the first salt goes down then that's it, hopefully if it's like last year we'll be on a day out to the...
I have to agree, 17k, 18K even 20K for a fully sorted bus is not that high when you look at what you'd spend to get a "off the boat" import up to spec, let alone a UK or Euro bus.
When it's a rat or slammed then that's different, it's what someone else will pay for your creation.
Sorry to hijack,
I've been looking at this as well, I've got 185/75 r14 on the back and need to get the revs down a bit, so was looking at putting 15's on and running 195/75 Yokohama R818 van tires.
A stock set-up (185/82r14 with 0.82 4th gear and a 5.375 FD) will give you a true 59.5mph at...
Stayed on the site aspro going to in the Spring, nice clean site, friendly staff, etc. They have a Pub next door, but they don't let dogs in ! they did not get any of our money
Lovely area and a nice cliff top walk into Scarborough.
