Calling all those with an engine raise on a 67/68 RHD Bay
Im in the process of raising the box and engine in my bay now and need to sort out an extended clutch cable
problem is I can't fine one! mines 3243mm as standard and need at least another 100mm to reach the clutch arm on the AB beetle...
has anyone got any tips for changing a main shaft bearing? ( the one behind the nosecone )
mines shit it pants and needs changing desperately.. don't have any tools to take the gearbox to bits though..
anyone ever had any luck with a puller?
I'm scratching my head thinking of decent ways to mount my engine when doing a gearbox/engine raise..
currently have a AM code box with split nose cone ready to go in but want to raise the engine while im at it.
anyone have any pics/wisdom on how to change the engine mount bar to raise inline...
specs as per rat well is
top 2 holes M10x1.5 28mm deep
Bottom holes M8x1.25 28mm deep
anyone know if this sounds about right? bit squeaky bum time drilling 28mm into the bottom stud
Hey!
so i'm just about to fit my engine into my bus. Its a recycled D code case.. Basically, I got an adaptor plate to fit it into my bus, but looking at it now it already has 2 holes drilled and tapped and not the bottom one?! my first question is...
Can I drill and tap the bottom hole to...
when I did mine, I just put some tacks on the inner panel so I could put the door on and kinda bend it into alinement, it was a pain in the ass but if you've got nothing to go on its all you can do.. lots of trail and error.
Okay so solved...almost. ended up buying the scofields cylinder, with the twin outputs for front brakes... on there website it says fits 68 onwards LH or RH but beware that early early chassis its a bit more of a ball ache.. basically you won't be able to fit switches to the cylinder.. AT ALL...
As title! I'm looking for a full length rock and roll bed for my early bay, would consider just the frame but cushions would be a plus!
as close to Lincoln as poss also (Y)
