    Creaking Rear End !

The part number is 211 511 245 A. You can get Genuine sometimes, but it's not german. We've used thousands of spring plate donuts. So many we now have our own tooling and make our own. There's 5 manufacturers I know of. -VW Brazil -Vibrasil -CE -TransporterHaus -unbranded with a chamfer on...

    Creaking Rear End !

Sounds like the springplate donuts to me. Replace all 4, no lube required. It won't do any damage if left for the short term. Replacing them will improve the bus handling.

    Brake upgrade options?

Parts you need: Pre 86 Porsche 944 or 924 Turbo hubs. Discs - available new from Euro or GSF. Calipers - choose from 944, 944 Turbo, Wilwood or 911 / Boxster. An adapter kit for the calipers. I would suggest using Boxster calipers. They are good calipers readily available used not requiring...

    Brake upgrade options?

Yes you need to go remote servo. The king and link pin beam tubes are too close together to fit the servo bracket for a stock VW servo. You can easily fit Pre 86 Porsche hubs on your current dropped spindles with a conversion kit. The discs it uses are 911 / 944 20mm vented, and widely...

    K&L Conversion annoying'nssss

Any year king pin can be made to fit - the bore where the king pin bushes fit is 28mm on all years - the shaft size differs, but this doesn't matter. The main difference you are concerned about for your trailing arms is the link pins. In effect you would be making a 63 only spindle with your...

    new T'haus forged discbrake spindles

To fit 944 hubs on 55-63 spindles you need to have the hubs machined for different bearings. They'll also need spacers and caliper adapters. There's quote a choice of calipers available when we make this conversion. You can't run 64-67, 68-70, 71-72 or 73-79 brakes on a VW 55-63 spindle.

    narrowed but not tubbed.

Indeed they are. All beams have the adjusters in the stock position at their highest setting so will work fine with dropped spindles. If you're not using dropped spindles and want a lower adjuster position we can make a special no problem. All beams over 3" will need slam arms so the shock...

    new T'haus forged discbrake spindles

These spindles will be available with early or late shafts. They are not public yet. So the answer to your question is yes you would be able to run late bay brakes.

    K&L Conversion annoying'nssss

It is possible to build 112PCD VW Brazil disc spindles with 55-63 king pins, which will give you the late bay disc brakes working with your 55-63 running gear. You don't want to know the price of these Brazil spindles now. Pre 63 suspension stuff will work despite the weight, EvilBen has been...

yes it's ready (in component form). I will be welding it up when I get back from VW Winterfest next week. The prototype has already been tested on a 72 and it fits well without major mods to the bus.

    Earlybay forged dropped spindles?

Clarifying one point Graham made. Not cast they need to be forged. There is a lot of difference between the different techniques and the costs involved. Cast is not suitable for a bus spindle due to strength issues of the material.
