Hi, I have an AD 1600 twin port engine thats fitted with a dual vacuum distributor. my question is, can i just remove one of the hoses (the one at the back?) to turn it into a single vacuum, will this work correctly and what should i set the timing to?

On the step by step guide it says, 13. Then turn the Volume Control screw back IN (clockwise) very slowly until the engine speed drops by about 20-30 rpm (slightly leaner). I thought that screwing the srew in (clockwise) richens the mixture?

Yes its a proper(pain in the arse) solex, when you say idle jet do you mean the air by pass screw?

My bus was running abit rich(black exhaust smoke and sooty plugs) so i tried setting the carb as it says in the haynes manual but when i screwed the volume control screw all the way in and then 2 1/2 turns out, it would'nt run properly and i found that it runs best when its 5 1/2 turns open...

I am going to spray my bay with 2k but need to know what hardener and thinners to use, fast, medium or slow? i will be heating the garage before and after spraying. How many coats would i get out of 5 litres of 2k acrylic gloss? (just doing the outside of the van) could it be done in one coat...
