ok so as far as i can tell i use my busses driveshafts with beatle inner cv joints and the original bus outers... What i am confused about is weather I should make up some kind or cradle to support the g/b and engine? 1.modify gearbox mount to take the 1303s box 2.beatle cv joint ineer - bus...

forgot to ask - are the original beatle drive shafts and cv joints usefull for fitting to 68 bay?? thanks :mrgreen:

hi there...i've been offered a choice of 2 1303s AT code box's one with IRS and 1 without - I plan to fit the 1303 box to my 1968 bay - for better motorway cruizing and also as i am raising the engine. My question is - do i need IRS - fir what? If both boxes are roughly same price - then can i...

hi looking at swapping to a 1303s gearbox - couple of questions - - will changing the gearbox in turn raise the engine slightly giving me more ground clearance? - Is an 'AT' code IRS gearbox from a 1303s beatle the right one to be using ? ... Thanks

tinware - yes.....but would i have to modify the fuel tank and tray beneath if was only tilting the gearbox (not raising the whole gearbox)...I havn't yet mocked it up but was going to raise engine mounts 2" and modify the gearbox mount to new angle?

ah yes..i did have them and think they went when i sold my old bus - damn!..sorry
