    75 westy for 400£

If you were offered this with everything, interior etc there but engine seems to be dead for that price, is it worth it? bodywork not too bad either, seems ok underneath. What say the EB masses?

    What's this groove for?

My guess would be the panelling would of been done in two halves. Top and bottom and that the protruding strip was there to help the wood take weight on it? :?:

    VW powered VW

Oh I completely get the a/c thing. The smell the noise, you can always tell another a/c coming round the corner and ther's just something about it puttering along in your ears. They are so easy to work on too and would be my engine of choice. Sadly, on my budget I can't afford an a/c daily doing...

    VW powered VW

For sure Balders  Though on par with the cost of a new recon a/c lump there can't be a lot in it? ie, you can get an on the road suburu for about £500 if you look about so that's the engine, ecu, wiring loom etc and then it's a visit to RJES. And I suppose you could sell the a/c lump...

    Overhead Locker Plans

if it was that long would you maybe need to have an access point half way as I know my arms wouldn't reach all that way for an elusive little bit that rolled all the way back

    VW powered VW

I guess it's horses for courses. The aircooled is great as an occasional engine but, with fuel the price it is, the aircooled isn't a great daily engine imo. There are a lot of people who want to use their a/c dub as a daily but have miles to cover. I think the reason suburu have become a...

    Overhead Locker Plans

Good work Men! The power of eb 8) The only disadvantage would be for someone with a poptop I guess?(other than cracking yr head as you said already  ) But surely that's just a solution of 2 sets of measurments for the bottom piece?

    Making a wiring loom

Has anyone pulled out theirs to use as a "map" to make a new one? Was it hard to get the new one back in? Would you use like parachute cord attached to pull through to then pull the new loom through? There may have been a little accident with a grinder at the weekend :msn4:

    1968/9 ex german fire bay

I know this van well. If I had the money I'd be up there like a shot. It has sentimental value. I hope it goes to a good owner who'll keep hold of it. Good luck with the sale.
