Have you tried to put the bus in 1st gear or reverse and rocking it back and forward? Sounds like you might need a new starter motor Take a video of the not starting/noise and post it using the tapatalk app - might make it easier to diagnose

remove the head and install a helicoil - quite a straightforward job or as an alternative just replace the head with another, could be done in a day easily rather than messing about with the helicoils heads can also crack causing the spark plug to blow out

It could be clicking but not latching - ie disconnecting the power from the main beam, Id still pull it from the fuse board and give it a look over and clean. Cant really be anything else. Mine was a rather large relay that was full of junk when I removed it - sprayed contact cleaner in there...

Had the same happen to me buddy - remove the flasher relay (guess its stopped clicking when you pull the stalk back) If its an OG one it'll be able to open and clean up inside then reinstall and all should be good.
