    Mot feelings.

I totally agree. I pulled the belly pans off mine to discover that the chassis was kippered. All sorted now but would have been a death trap if driven. As stated mot is minimum standard of safety anyways. as suggested it should be a reflection on your ability to upkeep these old girls - or give...

    YellowBay69...so far

After various attempts to get brakes to work I decided that new master and slaves were needed. Having tested as much as i could I think that the master cylinder was failing to hold pressure (degraded seal?) Hopefully this little lot will sort it 🙏😎🌈👍

How far is too gone ?

Interesting point . If you replaced the chassis then later replaced the engine would you need to re register it. Also if someone built a new VW - identical to original just all new would anyone buy ?? Deep s#!t man … and no beer involved 🧐

How far is too gone ?

Mines a ten footer for sure …. and despite my best efforts it’s getting crustier. At the moment it’s just about getting it running…. but I know it won’t be long before it needs new metal in places. The chassis has been done but does have some old repairs. So the plan is run it for a few years...

    Modern and custom made ?

Original….but by choice as it was the cheapest option and most of what I had to rebuild was what came originally. So as much as I’d like to improve - in the end it just worked out that way. Would love discs and a bigger engine. Maybe next time around. 🌈👍
