So rebuilt the fuel pump (again) with a quality kit from Schofields that’s true to pump. But it still doesn’t pull fuel through. Pump, push rod, pump block are all original and in good order. New gaskets as per original. I’ve measured the max petrusion of push rod which is as Bentley manual...

I’ve fitted mine on the drive after refurbishing it and fitting new shocks. Didn’t find it difficult tbh (and I am a amateur) Think I used trolly jack to ease it into place. Definitely don’t remember it being an issue.

Hi all - trying to get my fuel pump to go. Anyone else taken this bit out (screwdriver is pointing) Think my problem lies with the spring loaded ‘stopper’ underneath 😳

I’ve got bunks , table slider rail , a shelf , and some doors and lids. All varying degrees of decay but useable. 🌈👍

Got the original sorted. Sucks like a …… 🤔 😳 Let’s just say it’s working well now. Like a new one in fact. Thanks for everyone’s help on that as was a simple fix in the end. 🌈👍

Posting these photos and diagram of the Piersburg Fuel pump in case anyone else runs into the same problem as I did. i found a photo of when I pulled it apart and springy flap thing is clearly closed. Not so clear in diagrams… Mine was definitely open when I rebuilt it- hopefully the cause of...

Thanks for info - I was sure it should pull fuel in. Yes I have correct push rod - does pump need priming ?? Might need to take apart…again. There’s a spring loaded valve and a spring flappy thing as well.Is the Flappy thing ‘open’ until under pressure ??

Will double check timing at idle and do some carburettor whispering. Then she can go back in. 🌈👍

So turns out it’s more fuel push than fuel pump !! 🤪 I didn’t realise it was gravity fed … bloody amateur hey !!
