    New to the community

Welcome to the forum, looking forward to following your gallery thread. I was a complete novice when I got my van 9 yrs ago. The knowledge and support on this forum has helped me immensely. They’re great vans to work on and I’m still grinning from ear to ear each time I’m behind the wheel 👍

    WIRING- Oil Pressure Switch

Blue green goes to OPS for sure 👍 In case you hadn’t noticed both cables in the smaller loom have nicks in them in, could do with individual heat shrink on them. The larger red loom and black could be the from a previous Hot Start Relay. If so, definitely worth re-instating 👍

    1970 Devon Resto

Looks great 👍 Had a similar issue, so I double nutted my carb to manifold studs 👍

Attaching drive away awning to gutter rail

I use figure 8 channel attached to a Kador / Keder strip which is then attached to the awning. Works well 👍

    Inspection hatch ?

Agreed 👍 I changed from Single Carb to Twin Webers on a 1641SP, added thermostat / flaps and changed alternator studs to bolts all without dropping the engine … felt a bit like Mr Tickle at times though 🤣

Always wanted one, had never driven one, took the plunge in 2015 then had a 250 mile drive home 🤣 Come a long way since then 👍

    Winnie - Our 1970 Bay

Been unable to get out and about in the van for a bit due to one thing and another so decided to get a few jobs done with parts that have been sat on the shelf for a while. Fuel pump seals, spacer had split halfway down but managed to get the bottom bit out with a M10 tap, luckily had a new...

    Ben's 72 Bay

I honestly would, but Mother in Law has just come out of hospital after 2 broken hips in 2 months and we’re in Court next Tuesday / Wednesday because of our cretinous neighbours in the big house, so got all the prep for that to sort with our Barrister. Happy days 🤬

    Modern and custom made ?

The wiper module is a great bit of kit, it’s not only intermittent, it has more speeds other than slow & fast 👍

    Engine

^^^ +1 to the comments above 👍 I have a SP1641 with Twin ICT Webers and a Bluetooth 123 tune+. It’s well set up and runs great. The change from single H30/31 carb and single vac advance dizzy, cost a bit, but I recouped some selling on the parts that came off.

    Modern and custom made ?

I prefer, subtle additions, but aftermarket technology has come a long way since our buses rolled off the production line. Intermittent wipers, electric window washer, hot start relay, are all useful fit and forget items, and there are many others things I’ve done to improve reliability and...

    Pristine Buses vs Patina Buses.

This is still one of my favourite pictures of Winnie from our 2nd outing after restoration 8yrs ago. I’ve managed to keep on top of things, there’s always a list, but pleased that everything that has been done since restoration has been done by myself, which is satisfying considering I...
