we went to france last year made it as far as GRANTHAM SERVICES before blowing the engine (i forgot how, but in a bad way) count yourself lucky you ever made it out of the country! but that sucks :( (where did you get your windbreak btw?)

if you can't get it off, get one of the sprays for cleaning alloy wheels, brings whitebands up a treat, do mine every year and they look like new tyres :) they did, yeah VERY tidy bus btw :mrgreen:

hey everyone, thanking you kindly for the suggestions, I'm still wondering about an air leak on the carb and will check it out using your suggested approach BUT.... the reason it was backfiring was that it was about to run out of petrol (broken fuel guage) and was running on dodgy crap at the...

I recently fitted a new exhaust, a mondo muffler on my 1641 with prog carb it was fine for 5 minutes, but eventually developed a bad backfire. took it to my garage and it seemed to get sorted however a month on, and the popping backfires have just returned at around 2000rpm, above that it...

dude that must be a nightmare :shock: even though i occasionally think about ditching mine (like when sat on the hard shoulder or when i get a garage bill) but could never go through with it still, the scene is stronger than ever and don't show any signs of disapearing, we'll still be here...
