    Earlybay Timewasters on eBay!

....I sold a car (non VW) on Ebay - and buyer bawked, saying he'd bought another car... Not a lot I could do. So I reclaimed the costs off Ebay and relisted, and then had an Email from new buyer, saying he was in Poland - could he bid ? I said no, seemed like too much hassle for a £800 car...

    backfire question

Raggles Did you get to the bottom of this - my bus does exactly same thing (backfires only in second gear when using engine as brake.) One test I read to check the manifold was to spray propane/bbq gas around the manifold, and check for increase in engine revs. (Don't know if it is serious...

Your Early Bay Picture of the Day .....

Not many "inside" photos on here.... The only "resources" at this campsite at foot of Pen y Fan was a stream - but at £3 per night and a view like this no complaints

    Annoying leak!!

...would it help to heat the seal up a bit before prizing it up, or for a test stick over some gaffer tape and go for a drive in the rain to check if that is where the leak is...

COBB BBQ's, Are they any good????

They are good, but one drawback is fat from food you're cooking, rather than falling on the charcoal and burning off, is collected in the channel around the edge. Great for adding flavour to your veg, but very bad for cleaning afterwards. We got some very strange looks from other campers when...

    Electric Earlybays?

as a non smoker, you know when you walk into a pub where someone has a had a crafty *** - and you think that's how a pub should smell...? Maybe one day when we're being wheeled around in google invalid carriages we'll have the same nostalgia for a bit of genuine old skool fully leaded car fume !

Wanted - Pair of drive shafts

The are not expensive or hard to find as new - and the CV joints and especially the rubber boots at both ends do wear out and are an MOT failure - so could be false economy buying used ones.

    Dormobile air vents and hinges

Unused/undrilled : £80 posted (not certain the rivets belong with the kit....)

    Make a roof rack

Would this be any good as a starting point - I think it comes off an old Land Rover, I just listed it on Ebay for £10, but if you genuinely think you could convert it you could have it....It hasn't rusted (galvanised ?) - so maybe tricky to weld.... Can't upload the photo to here - but details...

    Drum brake star adjuster tool

I keep a spare star adjuster in tool box, so when adjusting can hold it up to wheel to check I am turning the bus's adjusters the way I intend to. Maybe it's just me being thick, I lose my sense of direction when lying under bus and trying to relate moving star "up" with...

    Door drain holes

there should be holes - and worth adding if not - should extend the life of your doors, but maybe reduce the life of the step under the door if not painted as that's where the water will run on to !
