1968 Savannah Beige Microbus from California

Okay. Electrician came round yesterday. Ian of Air-cooled Auto Elec, in Wigan. Top guy, couldn't recommend enough. Anyway, he fitted a leisure battery system and realised my brand new fridge was broke  but got on to Amazon and a replacement came today. Also, the registration came today...

Help me with my UK registration woes

Got rejected again! Postal order went missing  Luckily I rang up and a nice woman agreed to speak to the guy directly and he let me send in another postal order. Registration came today :D F reg. Drove it to town and picked up plates. :msn4:

    Wanted: Thermo mats

As above, really. Anyone got a full set of thermo mats they'd like to part with? I'm based in North Wales, so probably would need posting unless you're local.

Help me with my UK registration woes

First time it took just a few days because the trader gave me the form for registering a brand new car. Second time was 10 days. I'd guess you're probably about to hear any day now. Could be worth giving them a ring - they told me over the phone whether it was rejected or passed both times...

Which master cylinder for a 68?

Okay, I have definitely stopped the leak by replacing the OG metal brake pipe that comes from the brake reservoir to the master cylinder (had a tiny hole in it!) with a rubber one and tightening up a nut on the master cylinder and putting clips on the hoses that feed and leave the master...

Shoulda kept the faith, MOT garage came through and spoke to VOSA and sorted it right away. Now sending off my registration again - maybe it'll be third time lucky :D

Help me with my UK registration woes

Rejected again. Turns out the trader made up some random chassis number when getting it MOT'd, so the MOT form is wrong (I didn't notice/didnt think to check). It doesn't even match the kind of number it could be (too many digits). I have no idea why he would do this as he was there while it...

    clear out time

Gah, I'd be interested in that roof rack but Scunthorpe is too far for me. Long shot but don't suppose you're headed north wales-ish way any time soon?

Which master cylinder for a 68?

Thanks for that Alex, couldn't find the correct reservoir in my brief search for some reason. Will have a tinker tonight and if all seems knackered still, will make an order. It's annoying though, just popped out and its literally a slight drip and brakes seem to work fine (admittedly only...

Which master cylinder for a 68?

Thanks Skidsurf, much appreciated - even with having to buy a new reservoir too (mine won't fit), that's a hell of a lot cheaper than the ones I was looking at! Trying to finish work early today so I can escape outside and see what's what.

    Cheers for the advice Hilly!

Which master cylinder for a 68?

Thanks, I'll pop out tomorrow and take a pic. Ideally once my dad comes round after work and I can get him to press the brake down to see where the leak is. Pretty damn sure it's dual circuit. So, I can't just get a 100 mm + reservoir to fit that? I am jumping the gun slightly as perhaps it's...

Which master cylinder for a 68?

While bleeding the brakes today, the master cylinder started leaking a lot out of what I think might be the adjuster? (could be talking bollocks there, never touched brakes before except to adjust the stars on the wheels). Anyway, it appears to be as the French say, Le ******. So I think I need...

Help me with my UK registration woes

Thanks for that. Hopefully won't need it, but good to know. Mike1975: No I didn't. Honestly, because I'm a bloody idiot and trusted the trader (had done business before and knew him), when I asked "are all docs present and correct to get it on the road in a couple of months?" and he said yes...
