Hi, you can get the original style fibreboard from Rackhams of Ipswich (they have a facebook page and website), great fit and even came with the fixing rivets. Origanally it would have had fibreglass wool behind it but I replaced mine with a fireproof sound deadening foam with a foil surface.

On my 71 these panels are made of Fibreboard with a black fire resistant coating, got replacement ones from Rackams of Ipswich and they even came with the correct rivets - top quality fit too.

Any one got an idicator stalk switch for a 71 early bay ? Mine is the five wire type but would consider a USA version. Tried a pattern made one but was abolutely pants so sent it back to supplier. I appreciate these are very hard to find so willing to pay a sensible price.

Fit the best quality you can afford mate. I have wasted hundreds of pounds on cheap bits over the years which have either failed, not fitted properly or had the chrome rusting before it even got through one winter. Sounds like a dirty or knackered column switch to me. Might be worth taking the switch off and giving it a blow out and squirt with wd40 . If not it may need replacing but check all your earth connections on the headlights / switches first as they are not a cheap item. Looks like Custom and...
