    VW Classic 2011 pictures.

Very nice pics, thanks. Whereabouts is the show held; doesn't look like the usual lovely San D weather?!

New exhaust recommendations for 1641cc engine?

Me too, I assumed that it was along the lines of "this is what we're stocking now, obviously new and improved rather than old and inferior..."

    Hello

Hiya, welcome. Whereabouts in W Berks are you? We're in the Newbury area.

New exhaust recommendations for 1641cc engine?

I've just been on the phone to Bluebird and they no longer do the SS Single Quiet pack, just the stock style SS system. Stock system is apparently "much better for bottom end torque, right up to a 1776". Hmm...

    Airspeed no more?

    Airspeed no more?

That's good to hear. Someone else is recommending them to me, and he warned me off Airspeed less than 2 weeks ago, so I'm starting to feel pretty happy with this course of action. Thanks for the comment, it all helps.

    Wanted, '69 Westy Cab Bunk

Like the title says. The bus has got the brackets fitted, and I have a seamstress* handy in case I need to get a new canvas run up, but I'm after a pair of poles. *There could be hell to pay if the other half starts browsing here in the near future... ;)

    1600 TP, Carb choices.

    Thanks, :D :D :D

    Airspeed no more?

Actually, cheap and reliable for the summer would be fine from where I'm sat at the moment. But with a (small) finite amount of time available the best choice looks like a TES 1600tp; will this inevitably end in tears? Sorry for any thread creep.

Dellorto 40 DRLA twin carbs + offset manifolds £320 inc P&P

And another PM, good news this time!

    1600 TP, Carb choices.

A quick question for those wise in the ways of the flat-4 force. Is it worth sticking a pair of DRLA 40s on a 1600 twin port, stock apart from a sports exhaust, or would the standard carb be a better choice? Aim is a bit more zip without utterly ruinous mpg; we've got a 2000 mile trip to France...

    Airspeed no more?

In the position of needing a new motor pdq, and hence doing a fair bit of research, it certainly seems that you can find a dissatisfied customer of almost any of the known players; equally there's usually at least one to support said supplier. I guess that's the way of t'internet. However, this...

    Engine Choice

Not too far away, I work between Swindon and Chippenham, I'll give him a call. As for budget, well there's a KTM 950 in the garage that's starting to look a little nervous...
