***Early Bay Adventure weekend*** Old thread ...

I've been on one of Rikki's earlier ssvc trips when my westy sort of sneaked in as an imposter & it's a lovely informal break with a bit of fun or the option just to chill. Well worth considering in my opinion

SAAB in mine, really comfortable on short & European journey. Plus if I ever wanted to sort them out already wired for 'heated'.

What would cause you to sell your van?

It's a good question. I built my westy to be used throughout the year & to go almost anywhere - but I still fall in & out of love with it, some of that is linked to the frustrations of running a 43 year bus, but other stuff is more personal. I loved riding my motorbikes & still miss it, but...

My westy - sorted at last

Sometimes being patience and seeking a second opinion helps. Its well documented the issues I've had with what is basically a well spec'd bus (for that read money pit/divorce generating piece of machinery) designed and built to be used anywhere in the UK or Europe - but driving back up from...

The good and bad reasons for keeping our buses going ..

Good call Nugsy The workshop spotted that it looked like during previous work carried out for me, it had been fitted incorrectly so they changed the hose and connected the right way round. But apparently they were so used to servo hoses just 'staying connected' and not using clips to secure so...

The good and bad reasons for keeping our buses going ..

Agree Mike, but there was no sign of any fuel leak inside the engine bay, & the external filter was ok, but the area above that appeared to be the point the fuel was dripping out of. But, went to pick up the bus tonight after the engine had been taken out, fuel tank checked etc & nothing could...

The good and bad reasons for keeping our buses going ..

Cheers Ozziedog Thought I had everything cover this year - the westy has spent more time in Thornbury this year than on my own drive  Things come to try us, just wish they would try someone else for a change

The good and bad reasons for keeping our buses going ..

Having had a great trip to Spain & France last year in the Westy plans were set early in the year to head for Scotand. Primarily the West Coast but with a couple of islands to be thrown in and a stop over in Dornoch to catch up with old friends. had a two night stay in the Derbyshire Dales...

    Waterproof Roof Bag Recs?

Spotted this on ebay, almost bought one but as it was all last minute didn't think it would reach me in time - probably the only reason I didn't order. It had an offer on over the weekend so maybe worth a call to check on the price...

    CSP or Gene Berg Shifter

Gene Berg for me as well. Great customer service, bought mine on line in the UK via a few emails & then had it delivered to the rental house when I was on holiday in Florida - came home as hand luggage :D Just had it switched to the 091 box & it's a lovely smooth combination

For Sale - OE Heat Exchangers SOLD

Now Sold Long story this, but having replaced the exhaust, & 123 & had the carbs off and checked more than once the search to stop the annoying popping on my westy ended with the conclusion/advice that it must be the heat exchangers.
