T1 / Beetle Case into Bus Adapter Options?

Yeah! If you lay a piece of fine wet and dry on a piece of glass and then sand the pump cover flat on that it means you'll get a perfectly flat surface (or as close as you can get!)

    1971 Deluxe Import - A blank canvas

Due to being useless, I've not done much on the bus recently. Last week I managed to finally get the engine out to sort some issues and fit the twin carbs. I'll be running Weber 34 ICT's on the stock fuel pump and have a new Bosch alternator to fit. Had a few hours today so fitted a...

    Exhaust Options

Afternoon all - Just pulled the engine from the van to replace alternator and fit twin 34ICT carbs - the exhaust is a sorry looking standard system so I was looking at potential replacements. I know the Vintage Speed is widely regarded as a winner - though it's a bit more than I want to spend...

    Saab to Stock front seats

I've got latebay seats in my bus, they fit on the same runners as a t25 - they're visually really similar to the early ones and both slide forward and lean back on a lever. They don't need the bulkhead to clip to. Alternatively, think I have the original early bay seat runners and brackets...

Brake Fluid Filler to Master Cylinder Hose - What is special about it?

I've got a spare metre of the EPDM stuff from hoseworld, it was reccomended to me and has been in situ for 18 months so far with no problems. If you want it feel free to come get it from Leeds or just pay postage!

Importing a van - advice needed please!

As above, send all the paperwork done correctly and you're laughing. I had my logbook in about 2 weeks from sending the v55/5 off. I also included a SAE and asked them to kindly return the original US title doc (they don't usually do this just incase someone tries to use it again - but I wanted...

How do i put this seal in?!

Here you go - seems to be a common issue and exactly why I'm not going to do mine! I'll look for a sliding window to replace my 3/4s. http://forum.earlybay.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=73444

    Bert, my 70 deluxe adventurewagen

Looks amazing. Absolutely love your bus. Did you manage to sort your engine? Mines about to come out for a few jobs doing - half way tempted to find a spare long block and build it up bigger than standard.

34 Pict 3 Throttle Spindle Bushes

Afternoon all, Currently got my carb off to repair the bushes - on stripping down they don't seem to be plastic, unless they're plastic with a thin metal sleeve? Has anyone removed metal bushes from the carb before to replace them? I've got some replacement bushes waiting - There is a load of...

Flywheel seal PROBLEM SOLVED!! Gsf to blame!

Glad to see it's sorted - got mine to do soon, won't be using GSF for the parts. I've had nothing but crap from them recently. 55% discount doesn't mean a thing if you have to go buy it again 2 months later!

    Weber carb conversion issues

Better quality single spring and also a Butty's bits linkage for the accelerator pedal - anything to get the whole system working at a decent efficiency. If the cable is old it might be gunked up and replacement might help. Two springs suggests greater pulling power needed to return the throttle...

    Perished boots

I've had this exact problem with that exact tie rod. Ordered replacements from VWH at £10 and hopefully will last longer than a year. Dreadful quality.

    1971 Deluxe Import - A blank canvas

Work situation is back to something half decent, back at the old place with my bus in the unit so can have a few hours here and there to work on it! Going over it at the moment for the MOT, first thing I noticed was that three of the tie rod boots were perished (a year old, stored indoors -...

Quick picky of our drive this morning

If I had a drive that big I'd have more than 3! They're all good lookers though, nice!

    firewall

The vent lines are an absolute must - make sure they're all tip top. The firewall was added for a reason too, you shouldn't have much trouble tracking one down. Try on here as a wanted ad or on VZi/the samba/ebay

There's one for sale for £90 on the Early Bay Parts group on Facebook - if it's any help!

Removing door check strap to fit seals?

I did as above - IIRC there's a small circlip that I removed from the pin, then drift the pin out. Was a 5 min job including 3 mins of trying to find the circlip I'd dropped. Once the pin is out you can seperate the check strap and get the seal on easily.

    respring and recover seats

Have a look at Halls Classic Interiors on Facebook, he's Derbyshire based if that's any good. Done alot of Mini stuff for me and friends and has always been great - I'm sure he'd be able to sort your seats and he's dead reasonable money!
