    bettlejuice oil?

It appears to be just straight SAE 30 unless I've miss read? From what I can gather most people use 10w40 or 5w30 or similar for better lubrication and flow on start up/cold. Sent from my Siswoo C55 using Tapatalk

    Camp out bits

Another item I've got kicking around.. Old Lucas Fog Ranger light. Did have two of these mounted to the front of my bus but one glass was cracked by a stone. Chrome good, some very small dents in the back plate but nothing significant for a light that's probably over 40 years old, Polish up...

    Camp out bits

Yep no probs, Carb went ages ago, sorry. Its an old photo. Also got an EMPI bus shifter that I don't need and can bring along. Can be supplied with the pictured knob (which doesn't fit well at all) or the original black one. Good condition. I have drilled out 2 of the rivets in the base and...

single port v twin port 1600

I would agree with Adam on that one. Twin carbs will help with top end, fuel economy(assuming you don't have a heavy right foot) and a bit of low end. Not run a single port engine, but I guess the 1600s aren't brilliant at pushing a rather un-aerodynamic bus around at high speeds. I can just...

Got a few bits I can take to the EB camp out if anyone wants them. Polished Stainless front grille and a stock front grille, stock one requires clean up and paint. Stainless is brand new(photo on bus shows the one I have on my bus). £10 for stock SOLD £15 for stainless (£45 delivered new) SOLD...

    Possible windscreen leak

Yeah I guess new seal and sealant covers all bases. Just make sure its a decent quality seal and then your unlikely to have any issues in the future! Just be careful removing and replacing the window so it doesn't get smashed. Is it a laminated screen or a tempered glass one? Sent from my C55...

    Led dash lights

I think there is a work around for the generator light, you have to put a resistor in parallel with the bulb if I remember correctly. Its because LEDs are essentially diodes and only allow flow one way, I can't remember if its also required to put a small load on the alternator to excite it...

    Led dash lights

Bought mine off eBay, something like http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=262314364485&alt=web" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Work great, but you can't change the indicator ones or the generator/alternator light. Sent from my C55 using Tapatalk

Main beam 'tale tale' light issues.

Sounds like its wired incorrectly? If it doesn't change when you flick to main beam is it wired up to the dipped/side? If wired to the side light it would light up always. Sent from my C55 using Tapatalk

Stuck Inlet Valve on Cylinder Head - Assistance requested

Is the valve and guide significantly worn? Are you planning to check all the other valves and guides while you have it in bits? If one is worn its likely the rest are too! Sent from my C55 using Tapatalk

Stuck Inlet Valve on Cylinder Head - Assistance requested

To get the head of you will need to remove the fanshroud (don't forget to disconnect the thermostat first!) And then remove the tin that is over the head. There are four more nuts under the tin, once you have them removed it should just pull off. I can't imagine the engine running on three...

    Possible windscreen leak

Mine originally leaked in a similar place to yours, near to where the fuse box should be. I took the window out and repaired the lip, although only replacing the centre section so the corners are original. When I put the window back in with one of the extra soft seals from JK I found the seal...

    Vintage Speed Shifter problem

If you lift the rubber boot there are two screes under this, wind them both in until the bottom out( very light pressure!) Then back them both off a small amount. Pull up on the shifter and it returns smoothly, if not back them off a little more and try again. This should reduce the movement to...

Golf TDI filters, apparently they are high pressure and use the same thread, that's what I'm using anyway! About £6 a go at EuroCarParts. Sent from my C55 using Tapatalk
