Auto electrician or a very kind person needed

When you say you cleaned the terminal on the indicator block, did you just wire brush it?

Auto electrician or a very kind person needed

Be interested in the resolution if you do have someone as it may help me fault find my issue. I have the opposite problem, I have full beam and occasionally the right headlight is not on!

Lack of heat to the feet !

I have been insulating all the pipes and it has made a big difference to the amount of warm air in the cab. I also blow the pipes through with an air compressor and was amazed at the crap that came out. See my insulation thread here - http://forum.earlybay.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=67361

who uses their Bus in Winter anyway?

I use mine all winter even if it is just start-up up the engine once a week while it sits on the drive. A couple of year back, I made the mistake of putting a cover over it (pro-tec) and leaving it there for a few months without even starting it. I think it did it more damage than good so make...

    Hub Nut Size & Tools

I am about to service my brakes front and back and never done this before so need to buy the tools to inspect the brakes. I have a 1971 and just wondering if this a standard 36mm hub nut? I guess I will also need a breaker bar but is there anything else I will need just to take my wheels off to...

    Only full beam!

OK this is weird. Installed a new relay and the full beam indicator did not come on however, one of the main bulbs also did not come on (as you stand directly in front of the van, the one to the right is out). No problem, it must be blown so I installed a new bulb but still does not work...

    Thermawrap The Heater Pipe?

Today I insulated some more of the air tubes and tightened up all the fittings to ensure there is no gaps. I then took the van for a spin and I know it was not really cold today, but I felt warm air coming from all the vents even from the vents in the back :-) The old tubing to the rear vents...

    Fuel Sender Wire

Many thanks for your advice Bluesnailman, I earthed the wire and the gauge shot to full. As you can see from the picture, the wires goes into the engine bay and then straight into the firewall so I don't seem to have a plastic connector block. I guess it could either be a bad earth on the...

    Thermawrap The Heater Pipe?

ozziedog, not finished yet so haven't tested it. I am re-insulating all the pipes all the way down the van. I am at the middle section now and am trying to find the pipe that spurs off providing the heat to the back seats. Cant seem to find the right thickness so I am going to use the same...

    Timing Mark ...

vwcanuck, thanks for this, I have read this somewhere else as well so I will being doing this tomorrow as I have to adjust the tappets anyway. My engine has always run a bit hot so I am beginning to worry I have been timing it against the wrong markings :-( On my pully, I have a dimple at the...

    Thermawrap The Heater Pipe?

Just to close this thread off with the outcome, I used thermawrap and then put the cover back over again. Well pleased with the result. https://goo.gl/photos/2joG2QtP4gqAc4KH8 https://goo.gl/photos/aQJ14enkSuPuXNNe7

    Fuel Sender Wire

Many thanks for the description above. I think I have found it. There is the big red cable that goes to the battery and single thin brown and white wire that disappears off to what I assume is the sender. Obviously I cannot see the connection on the sender but when I followed the cable under...

    Only full beam!

For information, I think I have found the problem. My relay was full of water from a leak coming in at the front of the van! https://goo.gl/photos/FEGCwcgaqspcmXnQ8
