    Wanted: 14" Steel Wheel

What I did for my ‘71 is source some T25 wheels. They are nearly identical and bolt right on. The T25 (AKA Vanagon) boffins tend to “upgrade” to 17” wheels. Because of that, they jettison their old stock 14” wheels which are then commonly offered for sale, albeit with few takers. There was a...

No thermostat and no vents flaps

Yep. That’s where I bought mine. Luckily (for once!) I live on the same side of the pond.

No thermostat and no vents flaps

Here in California it was common to remove the thermostat, flaps, levers, etc., as they were thought to either be unnecessary in our temperate climate or because folks were worried that the thermostat would fail (and that would fry the engine). In essence, my Hippie forefathers were convinced...

OCTO - 2/3/24 Long Beach, California

OCTO stands for the Orange County Transporter Organization and they are known for a couple of things: (1.) An absolutely bitchin’ swap meet a few times a year, and (2.) Being a ‘67 and under Split Window group. However, there are always a few Early Bays for sale along with lots of parts...

A few snapshots from Buses by the Bridge 27. “The bridge” refers to the London Bridge which, for some reason, is here in Arizona. About 600 buses.

The unusual license plate pictured below is from the State of Nuevo León in Mexico. That jovial group drove over 2000 kilometers just to attend the event. Being so close to the border of Mexico, vehicles with Mexican plates are not all that unusual, but Nuevo León plates are quite a rarity.

Lights on - but nobody home - WTAF !

Whilst the windscreen rubber might look alright, if you cannot remember when or if you ever changed it out, then that is undoubtedly where the leakage is coming from. Also: keeping a new, spare headlight switch (and relay) in your onboard bag of tricks is a very, very good idea. When the...

Parts Wanted Bumpers for a 72

I have an extra pair of the “sand collectors” for a ‘72. Although many people don’t use them, they add stability to the rear bumper and also give you a spot to store sandwiches.
