    ...more engine help!!

WHS!! It sounds like possible cracking between the valves in the head, a compression test will usually prove this

    Pro tech cover

I have recently moved house and my bus is now kept in the garage. Before that i bought a pro tech cover for £320 to protect it outdoors and it really is the Dogs!! it was tailored to fit a dormobile van and is grey in colour and kept my van bone dry all winter. It is in good condition and it...

    Simple split charge relay system....

All you need is a fuse for the ciggy lighter then, these are usually rated at 10 amps. This is especially essential if you are running a multi plug ciggy lighter socket  . It is essential that all the wiring in the split charge circuitry is suitably fused to prevent fire/damage. A...

    tyres

You could go for 60 or 65 profile tyres but be aware this will affect the gearing of the vehicle if changed on the rear or the accuracy of the speedo if changed on the front. I've had no probs getting these types of tyres fitted to my bus, but if the tyre fitter is being picky, just take the...

changed fuel filter now cuts out all the time...

Sounds like you have a lot of crap in the tank and it is inevitable that the new filter will clog up very quickly and you will break down. It might be worth draining the tank to get as much crap out as possible. The ideal thing to do would be to remove the tank and flush it, but you may get...

    Are my carbs the problem??

Ok, long story, 1641 on twin ict's been running nicely for 2 months, a bit of trouble hot starting, have to depress pedal and crank engine a few secs before engine splutters into life and runs ok then. I noticed for some reason that the oil level had appeared to rise, over the last 2 months...

    Starter motor = poo!

Beware if your starter sticks once, if it sticks once it will stick again!! , usually when your van is several hundred miles from home

    Starter motor = poo!

Had the same happen to my bus too, just check the connections on the starter (can get corroded), if connections ok check you have 12 volts at the solenoid main connector and 12 volts at the coil connector when the key is turned to cranking. If you have juice the solenoid may be jammed (should...

    dormobile elevating roof

Yes they extend telescopically, and rely on a spring loaded catch to lock in and hold the pop top up  . If you are using yours for the first time, i suggest you use a plank of wood to act as a safety prop jus in case the catches are siezed.

    Vacuum advance?

Whip the dizzy cap off, remove the vacum pipe from the carb, if you suck on the pipe (produce a vacum) the base plate in the dizzy should move. If it does not move either the base plate is seized in the dizzy (check for freeness of movement), or the diapragm unit is knackered, you can buy new...

    CB`s???

I spent a lot of time Cb'ing in my younger years, you used to be able to buy an item called a snatch plate which operates similar to a pc and docking port system. You have a male plate mounted on the cb and a female plate mounted in each vehicle, so you can plug your cb into either vehicle and...

    Is my brake drum distorted??

Thanks for the advice, i'm convinced it has got to be one of the front drums, the brakes were fine before i droppped the beam, nothing else i think of could cause the thumping sensation i get from the pedal, the van pulls to the left a bit when braking so it probably is the right front drum...

    Is my brake drum distorted??

Hello all, Since i fitted the adjusters to my front beam i have noticed a juddering sensation at the pedal when braking  . The juddering sensation is proportional to the speed of the bus and i'm sure it will probalbly fail the mot. I jacked it up and when rotating the drivers side...
