    Wiring short

With that you probably know you need to call a local auto electrician. It's going to be money well spent if your clueless and avoid bigger outlay if you make more mistakes. It might not be a fried alternator, you can't really tell unless you test.

    Wiring short

You can check for shorts with a test meter, essential to maintaining your bus. Using that you can step through each circuit to check, shorts , if that's what it is, can be located. I won't say it can be found quickly but stick at it you will get there. you have turned the key circuit into...

    Winter work thread

I broke down at the end of summer so engine out over winter to figure out what went wrong. The engine still starts but no drive (auto). Hoping its just flex plate nuts but expecting worse like sheared spline becuase I didn't hear anything flying about, I just instantly lost all drive. I tested...

    Camping heat, gas or diesel????

I was lucky enough to get hold of an eberspacher b1lc, the b = benzine ( petrol), it's quite compact and sits under the passenger seat. Petrol via a t from the tank to engine fuel line. Been running it for years and it's been great. Pg

    Lowering

Budget different shock absorbers as well. I didn't but it was inevitable. Stock ones work great at stock height but lowering then you're losing some travel. I used spax adjustable which have worked out good. Pg

    Chrome spray

What I found with chrome sprays is that they look great but you can't touch the surface or it comes off so I tried a clear lacquer and they went dull grey. I tried several but same result. It turns out (I read at the time anyway) that chrome sprays are made up of lots of tiny metallic bits that...

Chatting to a guy yesterday who wanted pics of the van. He told me he's here for the annual vfm scooter festival. Turns out this weekend is a huge scooter festival, biggest in Europe, so expecting to see a few (thousand) of them... Music: the beat are playing live tonight. They're (scooters)...

    Headlight flasher not working

Old thread resurrection. I've often wondered if my old bus could be made to flash, he's a US import so I was pleased I found this old post. I've got a ton of 5 pin relays in the garage, could someone share the wire up. I'm assuming I've got a 4 pin so there's a terminal that's got to be added...

Is it time for a new project?

There's always an awful lot more involved than you plan, I built mine, stripped back to a shell and rebuilt as I wanted (mine was a US import and I think a hobo had lived in it), it got me through my annihilation in the courts (divorce) but your project needs to be achievable or you'll lose the...

    Your kitchen units

Another angle, just throwing ideas out there, I went a bit more minimalist. 2 adults, 2 kids so needed function. Fridge ( coolbox) housed under a day seat, to the right fits a Coleman petrol cooker which we use outside in the awning kitchen area or just outside if it's nice. Without the awning...
