Are genuine Mexican Bosch vacume dizzy's good quality?

Yup they are good. Don't advance as far as German parts. 28 degree. But important bit was that one vac feed from drla operated the advance correctly. Done 25k miles good mpg. Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk

    Timing clarification required

whs ^ 28-29 is about right. personally run accuspark svda. 28.3 at full advance. when idling should fall back to about 7.5 bdtc. you need over 3000 rpm, vac plugged. wind it up till you think thats loud that will piss the neighbors.. then a little bit more, that should be about right. just...

    Rear tin.

Cheers guys. Useful to know. Yes thanks for the correction. Front tin. Yes I was one of those that was told I wouldn't find another. To be fair I didn't but used a beetle one and a cardboard template and made my own. I'll save the good one for the next van then. I was expecting them to be...

    Silentcoat advice

Yeah my speedo was full of sharpie where gps speed was. 30mph was correct 80 was 90 on the speedo. Even with correct rolling size tyres etc it was out. But looked cool taking the needle off the dial Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk

    Silentcoat advice

I did in mine. loved it. dropped over all db by 12 db killed the high Hz tinny freqs and generally made it a nice place to drive. Went from hard work to chat at 80mph to be able to hold a conversation at same speed. added plus added to the insulation too and kept it cooler in summer.

    Rear tin.

Just sorting through a few bits from the recent house move. Found the original rear tin dual port for early bay. Drove me nuts at the time as I could not find it for blood sweat and tears. It's an original piece. I paid £100 for this back in 2007. Question is what are they worth now? Have I...

Is a spare wheel essential for an MOT pass?

Spare is not needed for mot but if one is in the van when you mot it then it is subject to the same checks as all other tyres. Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk

    Another sad story..

Yup. Just take you time threading the hose from the tank and make sure it's all clipped up proper. Easy. And as they say prevention better than cure Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk

Different size tyres front and rear

Mot doesn't care what size they are or even if they are the correct load rating. He cares if they meet spec. I know first hand working in insurance they can look for minor details if they are trying to wriggle out of a claim. So best declare everything off spec within reason. The line it was...

Late bay box into early bay

That's a late bay 1600cc 3 rib. 4 speed box. You can tell as 8t has the ears on the bell housing for the mid mount and the late bay front gearbox mountings. Swap the gearbox mount for your eb one and it will fit right in. Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk

Late bay box into early bay

Yeah just the bell housing is different on later ones they have the mid mount ears. As trikky says type 4 aka 6 rib you need a t1 bell housing and input shaft or chop a bit off your input shaft Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
