    VW was very smart when they fitted the 1600 Single Port to the early VW Busses. The single ports are less prone to cracking between the valves with the added weight and heat from a heavy bus.     Early Bay front tinware

    1968 to 1970 Bay Busses in the US ( don't know about UK) got the added hieght on the corners to the B ug firewall tin. Then in 71 with the 1600 DP was the 1 year only doghouse firewall tin. If you have access to the jig it should be easy to weld up a standard beatle piece to fit. HTH.
