    Cherished Insurance

Just got 24-day full Euro breakdown cover, including repatriation, from Norton Heritage for £60. I got a quote from the RAC for £150 so I have no complaints. Last time I went away I had RAC cover with my bank account, I phoned before I went to France and they said I was covered. Broke down in...

    Sliding door runner possibly knackered

The left-hand sliding door of my RHD Devon ('71) has dropped about a cm down at the rear end. It takes a small heave to slide it shut and when it shuts there is a small gap, which of course allows rain in. I'm thinking the rear runner has worn out. Does anyone know if the rear runner is on a...

..Thanks, I'll check both of these suggestions out. It used to happen with the old knackered engine I had before this one and we've done a few really long runs since replacement without trouble. Will keep you posted.

I had a service before the trip and normal car oil was put in and Halfords classic car oil taken out...

    Garage charges..groan

I'll get the breakdown and post on Wed. Pullies were out of line and I had a fan belt/overheating issue on the motorway (just short of a fire) and the seals had to be re-done & valves checked. Thanks for the advice and I'll get the hairies in on the action if the van comes out a mess. L

    Garage charges..groan

I've currently got the van in with a garage in South London to sort some problems out after a vege recon was fitted this time last year. I'm getting some mistakes sorted and it's an engine out job. No parts required just a lot of re-alignment. It's been in for the day and they want £750. I make...
