VW Type 2 1969 Deluxe Early Bay. Tax exempt. 12 months MOT. Devon camper conversion.
Professionally re-sprayed in Red and satin black in 2005. (It was white) I have owned it since 2002 and I was only the third owner from new, the first 2 were in the same family!
It has the original Pop top in very good condition, with 2 original black and white check hammocks and the original red interior door cards, deluxe trim and front seats.
The wood of the rear seats was past it so I fitted a replacement ¾ width Just Kampers Rock n roll bed with the original cushions and a kitchen unit/worktop, replaced the curtains and added a Cool Air Buddy seat. It has a leisure battery, 240v inverter, fridge and CD player with speakers fitted in the storage area underneath the bed. It has a top box above the bed area. It’s been tastefully lowered with grey powder-coated Empi 5 spoke wheels. Monza 4 tip exhaust fitted. I have had it on the road for 9 years.
It’s solid underneath with a replacement front beam in 2006. This year it’s had welding underneath the front steps. Before it was re-sprayed welding was carried out to all lower outer and inner panels of the body. There is slight bubbling of paint in a couple of areas, and one place where a football hit and damaged it! (the roof rack and bra have been removed)
It’s a great camper. The 1600 twin port engine was a replacement with Engle cams from BBT in 2003 and has since had a top end rebuild. It always starts reliably and runs really well, it has always been my daily driver around town and used for family holidays all over the country for a few years.
It has an agreed value of £8500 with Adrian Flux Insurance. Sadly selling to fund house renovations.
Located in Peterborough Cambs.
£8000 ONO. For any further info please contact [email protected] or phone 07875585648 or 07804493937
