For sale VW type 2 Early Bay Westfield Weekender 1971

Imported from California in 2010 and underwent a full restoration by Rackhams Auto Body Centre in Ipswich Suffolk. This involved a full engine and gearbox rebuild brakes overhaul new starter motor many hours of work in the body shop heated front and rear windscreens many many new parts (all rubbers etc).

This Camper was featured in VW Ultra magazine December 2011 (copy included with sale) and I believe was used to go around the show circuit.

We purchased the Camper straight from Rackhams and have owned it for over 9 years now using her for camping for a couple of years on and off but since then just as a Sunday vehicle really and the yearly trip from Suffolk to Cornwall. She has also been used to do some weddings and because of her lovely neutral colour she makes a great wedding bus!

She is currently showing 13000 miles from when she was imported and underwent the refurbishment.

We have changed some of the interior since ownership including a genuine clock in the dash, under dash shelves with power outlets and curtains etc, I have also fitted an electric pump to the windscreen washers.

I have fitted a Propex Heatsource Hs2000 heater which runs off of a gas bottle but we have never used it that much as when we did camp, we soon found that having the fridge on produces enough warmth for most occasions.

There is a tv/dvd player built in with an ariel that can be suctioned onto the roof, the stereo has a cd player and Bluetooth but doesn’t support the latest phones. There is a usb connection for phone connectivity and there are 6x9 speakers in the rear.

Always kept in a garage and only ever fed super unleaded although normal is ok.

Tax exempt M.O.T exempt, but has just been through a M.O.T needing a number plate light bulb and a new track rod as the fixed ball joint was worn.

This Camper has been loved and is very reluctantly for sale because of changing circumstances including a permanent relocation to Cornwall.

Included in the sale is a JustKampers red sun canopy which is ideal for pic-nics etc also thermal window shades, gas bottle for the heater and also possibly a 2 bar roof rack (subject to finding all the brackets)!

£28000 ono.
