Hi Yall
Just about to start fitting my 6 rib gearbox in the bus, its going on a standard 1600 twin port, but next year will be fitting a 1776
need to know are there any alterations i need to do before fitting? i heard that the input shaft needs to be shortened "is this true" and if so by how much ???

Thanks Bob

Do you have your original gearbox ? If so its just as easy to swap them over.
The input shafts are in 2 bits.
Unbolt the bell housing, remove the c clip slide the revers gear as far out the way as pos.
You can then unscrew the input a shaft from its other half.

Ahh ok, i think its 15mm but firm that up before you chop.

I thinks so, my understanding is that there are only 2 types of shaft.
If you wip them both out and the difference is about 15 mm then I would say your ok.
