Registered in California in 1970, which means she was manufactured in 68/69, converted by Westfalia and then shipped to America. Peggy has creative engineering weedeater 2 narrowed balljoint front beam. Creative engineering adjustable rear spring plates.
Just Kampers PRESEVATION - stainless steel original look exhaust, was fitted by dead dubs Nottingham about 5/6 weeks ago.
Its been lowered professionally using creative front beam and rear spring plates.
Original 14inch steels with domes
Peggy Is in Brilliant Blue inside and out.
Original canvas in pop top has some small holes but not major, we use a puka screen to cover. (As seen in photos)
This can be included in the sale, works wonders for keeping cool on hot days and warm on cold nights.
Children's hammock still there in good condition.
Original interior with untouched covers and door cards. We have had the rear interior side panels and rear door card recovered in matching quality vinyl.
Original cab hammock in good nick.
The buddy seat has had 240v plug sockets electrics fitted in chrome and fuse box inside.
Original factory fitted swing out side step! (Ive never seen another!)
Clarke & Clarke Curtains made by camper curtains with black out lining and magnetic bottoms.
Cushions to match.
Interior completely stripped out and new wooden floor put down. Cargo floor under that was near perfect
We rust treated it anyway whilst interior was out.
We painfully bleached all interior units and bed before laying sissal carpet and putting it all back in.
Body work:
She is tidy looking but not perfect and we have started to have a few things put right with replating and not filling.
We have had the bottom of the doors rot cut out and new plates put in, front arches have been repaired along with the front panels sides sections near the doors cut out and replated. photos of the process are available to view if you wish.
Bodywork that needs attention are:
Both outer sills have slight rusting, not rot but just need tidying up.(£14 each from JK)
Both rear arches may need doing at some point but this depends how perfect you want your bus, its never bothered us.
The windows on the tailgate, sliding door and opposite window may need attention at some stage with some bubbling, but there are no leaks at all.
Front Window is fine with no issues.
Ive tried to be as honest as poss and best thing would be to take a look. But she doesn't need loads doing to get the body clear, Depends on how far you want to go, we have been happy using her for camping and having fun!!
Engine:
1600 upright original aircooled
New dynamo installed last summer
Starts and runs brill.
240v hook cable lead in hatch.
Leisure battery with split charge.
We have always had the engine looked after if needed doing.
Plenty of receipts for all work carried since owning and some previous.
Also covers with a Just Kampers Cover worth £100
She has slight oil leak, like they all do!! Its not from the rockers but near the front of engine. Ive had it looked at and the mechanic said it wasn't a major concern. I always check the oil before every trip and she loses mm's (hardly moves).
She is bone dry inside and nice lovely and clean, always covered or dry stored in winter.
Peggy is not a show winning bus, please don't expect perfection, but she has been so well loved, used for her purpose (camping) she is like our 3rd child!!
Over all for her age she is defo one of the better ones out there internally and externally and she always gets plenty of attention.
Just returned from a 600 mile round trip down to Cornwall and she didn't miss a beat
