The "Chubby" is for sale!
Ive had this one for approx 5yrs, he is my first bus but I restored my split first..
He has had $5K of rust done, I didnt do the front doglegs as the metal costs were getting out of control at the time but have been treated and fibre filled, there was small pinholes in the front doors, slider and rear door hatch but not worth the money to cut out and replace, so these were taken back to bare metal treated and fibre skimmed and painted. The engine lid does the job, it had the pinholes in the bottom corners that were treated and fibre filled as well but the inside bottom corners have some rust holes.
Front disc rotors have been machined but I think the front left will need doing again ON the car as there is a small wobble on braking, the front calipers have been TOTALLY overhauled by Shermans, 4 calipers pulled apart and 2 made from these with all new seals etc. New flexible lines and brake cylinders, he has also had a new booster installed.. he brakes really well!!
He has had a new starter motor, clutch plates, brake pads, steering arms and shockies all round.
He starts, drives, stops, steers (no play in steering wheel) and has rego til 6/2014.
The engine is tired but it still can get up to 90klm/hr, it leaks oil (as most OG engines would) but is reliable as ive no issues since registering him last December, just the regular tune ups.
He has just had a service with new points place Etc..

Ive got heaps of spares to go with he eg, sliding door and front door seals (new) new bumper step matts, new front window inserts (the chrome molding and scrapers and new quarter window rubber.
Ive got the deluxe door trim air vent tubes, one I think has a small crack but they are very hard to find..plus more
Ive had him modified down from a 9 seater to an 8 seater as the rego is about $200 more each year and a Dickie seat is hard to find.

Anyway, he owes me about 14 -15K but bearing in mined and being realistic Im looking for $10,000 ono.
Ive kept as much OG paint as possible, the roof is awesome and the rust free (bar the surface rust for that rat look)
He has been penetrolled twice.

A set of mags and 2.5-3in drop spindles and he'd look fantastic!
I just cant do it has I need to save money to finish the home reno and start on my split resto!

Yep, Im going to lose another heart string but it needs to happen again!
